This is a first version of ArKaos VJ that fixes the flash support problem. This problem is only specific to the Mac OS X platform.

Windows user don't have this problem because ArKaos VJ uses the flash player distributed by Adobe Macromedia. Since QuickTime 7.3.1 Apple has stopped supporting the flash file format and the result is that in ArKaos VJ the flash text effect doesn't work anymore.

Starting with ArKaos VJ 3.6.5 beta 2 we have implemented a Netscape plugin host that can use directly the flash player distributed by Adobe Macromedia. This version can be used on the same machine than other ArKaos VJ 3.5 or 3.6 for testing purpose. If your license allows it it will run directly. Because we now call directly the flash player we do support flash file up to version 9 if you have the latest flash player installed. The version of QuickTime you have on your machine is not important because this version will exclusively call the flash player to decompress swf files. So you can try this application even if you have not yet upgraded to QuickTime 7.3.1 or latter. Even if this version seems to work for you we recommend that you wait that we have finalized this version and released ArKaos VJ 3.6.5 FC 1 before you upgrade QuickTime.

It seems that the chrominance control have a problem! It works ok in the movie control pop up, but after in the preview window, it looks like luminance control! I thought that it was because first i loaded a movie with luminance control and i replace it with another with chrominance control, but i close everyting, open again arkaos and create a new test synth, i load a movie with chrominance and it does the same thing, so. Big problem because i have normaly to load many movies with chroma key for my show on saturday evening, and i can't, and the problem is that i have also flash to load with, so i can't use the older version off the program. Re-installing doesn't help, deleting heavy movies doesn't, etc. The solution for me was, allready 2 times: to UNCHECK 'disable background processing' WHAT DO YOU USE FOR WORKING? I have the most recent software. But as Arkaos says in this thread, they don't use quicktime anymore to enable flash. So how could that be the problem? And: here, they talk about Flash Text. I can't import ANY Flash. The text pane is also empty (or is that because I use the beta?). I use a iMac, 1.83 Ghz Intel Core Duo, 1 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM, Mac OS 10.5.1 and a M-Audio Radium.

I seem to have the problem when I load certain movies. Even after deleting them, the no-full-screen keeps existing. I thought, maybe it's because the movies (or quicktime?) try to change the screen resolution? Because last time, I also changed some setting in Arkaos there, and suddenly (together with disabling backgound-processing), everything worked just fine. I guess you also installed all the updates you got from Apple - including Quicktime 7.3 or 7.4.

THAT'S where the problem comes from. Quicktime 7.3.1 doesn't support Flash anymore, so Arkaos VJ can't play these Flash Files anymore, because it uses Quicktime engine. It doesn't matter if they are Flash text or Flash animations, anything with the ending.swf will NOT play in Arkaos VJ anymore.

So you have two options: Install this beta version 3.5.6. OR reinstall Leopard without upgrading to qQT 7.3.1. Having trouble getting the VJ-DMX maxi-fixture to work with my MacBook Pro. With the 3.6.1 version I can´t get the 'play once' option to work. It will not change and the movie goes 'bananas'(random) or loops continously.

I tried to use the Beta-version and then I could do the above BUT then I couldn´t use the keystone-options. I also noticed that the HW-mode wasn´t avaliable, wich it was in the 3.6.1.! Is this one of those problems you´ve talked about earlier in this thread and is there a workaround? Best regards.
