Conventional wisdom is that Macs don't need defragging, but I found that it does when the hard drive is too full. I determined it had only 15% available so wound up buying this software on sale (YES) because it offered several solutions for freeing up space and caring for the computer after installation. I did have to defrag twice.

The first time the visual display was incomplete and a 12GB.mov which is about old family 35mm movies converted to DVD was apparently a problem. I deleted it and that allowed the hard drive to sort correctly.

I do want to say it has 'Bootwell' which I found a bit confusing is an improvement over the other versions instructions on creating external bootable drive on a thumb drive. I downloaded on a Saturday and the activation code didn't come until Monday. I would recommend this item to a friend!
